Collective Complaint Balgaddy Press Conference

Two years ago, a landmark Council of Europe decision found Ireland to be in violation of Article 16 of the Revised European Social Charter, stating that It has failed to take “sufficient and timely measures to ensure the right to housing of an adequate standard for a not insignificant number of families living in local authority housing. In its recent report  on the implementation of specific Charter Articles including 16,  the Government makes no mention at all of these findings or indeed how it intends to bring Ireland into conformity as a result of this major finding against them. CAN and The Centre for Housing Law, Rights and Policy submitted comments to the Council of Europe.
