Racial Justice: Overview
Building anti-racist communities
CAN addresses intersectional inequalities experienced by Minority Ethnic communities through collaboration with others concerned with the reality of racism in Ireland today. We offer dialogic leadership which promotes the participation of all those concerned with societal change, listening to understand each other’s experience, finding ways to address inequality together and promoting equality through collective action.
Our work is framed in the Right to Freedom from discrimination of all kinds as enshrined in Article 2 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It is a principle of both the Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights. The Convention on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination addresses it directly.
