Systemic Change Overview
CAN works for systemic change in relation to inequality and social injustice. Over the years, we have built up extensive knowledge, skills and expertise in how to bring about this social transformation.
Social justice issues require transformation in policies, practices, power dynamics, social norms and mindsets. All these elements are interrelated. Therefore, we work towards whole system change, to uncover the deep root causes and factors that maintain inequality and social injustice.
Our Approach
CAN has a vision of society that values all people equally. We weave human rights into leadership development, dialogue and reflective practice to support and mentor activists, within safe learning and development environments.
We facilitate the time and space for dialogue required for co-creating a just society, on request.
We pay particular attention to develop opportunities for communities that are excluded, which have no collective voice and are hard to reach to fully participate in society with dignity and respect.
Our Systemic Change work
Create safe, learning environments online and in person for inquiring into concepts, practices and methods that are informed by a vision of society that values all people equally.
Weave human rights and equality actions, leadership development, dialogue and reflective practice to support and mentor activists to embrace the ‘new impossible’ possibilities of our time.
Work with microcosms of whole systems, be they thematic or geographic in nature to co-create new response to stuck situations and issues.
Respond to requests to hold spaces for conversations that matter and are part of a sequenced approach to co creating a just society.
Pay particular attention to develop opportunities for communities that are excluded, have no collective voice and are hard to reach to fully participate in society with dignity and respect.
Create opportunities to generate conversations and awareness about the way we live, work, socialise, relate, interact, and organise within the current context.
